Social Studies

Social Studies is the best subject there is. Some people might think it's not but it's pretty good.In social studies class we are learning about the silver war. Like the people that fought in the Civil War and what they accomplished. Some of the people are George Washington , right now we're learning about Monroe . George Washington was known for his bravery and what he did for our country. Such as fighting for our country and serving as president.  Monroe help our country by gathering Intel about the enemy and fighting in the war. in social studies we have learned about this and how it was a big step for our country. the silver a tough time for our country and the people who lived in it. we would not be here If all the Braves soldiers that fought in the war did not sacrifice their lives. To help us learn more about the Civil War we have done stations and taking notes and we have taken test after studying as hard as we can. our teacher has helped us 100 lines about the Civil War By giving us the resources we need.

Science

Science is the best subject in my opinion. because you  can play with experiments. Right now we are learning about the oxygen and carbon dioxide cycle. Carbon dioxide is also called co2 .  plants take in carbon dioxide and release oxygen for us to breathe.  also  in Stations we are learning about animals natural habitats  and what happens when we destroy their homes to build roads.

Math

In 5th grade we are learning math.In math class we have been learning about coordinate plane , graphs, and plots. We are also doing stations about the concepts. Our teacher has tried to teach us this because we had missed it in 4th grade STAAR. Our teacher wanted to learn it now because it will be another question on the 5th grade STAAR too. In our future we will have to use the things she teaches us. For example we have to use a graph when we are trying to do something in the future.

Math

This week in math we are learning about angles and vertices.

A vertice is when two lines meet. We are using triangles and many other shapes to find vertices. To have vertices it must be made up of sides. There are angles like right angles, acute angles, and obtuse angles. It is  good that we are learning this because in real life if you are building a house right angles, acute angles, and obtuse angles could help you.So our teachers are helping us with Life challenges because they are teaching about right angles, obtuse angles, and acute angles. That is what we are learning in math.

Language Arts

Homophones are things that sound the same but they  are spelled differently And they mean different things. The homophones are the  things  that can be like the word two.

An example of a homophone is: To ,two, and too.It is important to learn about homophones because  If you know them then you won't get  confused with them. I am learning them  in reading, language arts, and  Social studies.

My teacher will give you a countdown to Start bubble sheets and she will tell you highlight the ones you got 70% or more in.
